Ever wondered why Ugandans don’t respect security? do you think they just look down on that job or do you then the citizens are too unserious that they don’t care about the people who work in that sector? Well, here are the major reasons why Ugandans don’t respect security protocol.
Undefined Protocols and SOPs. I derived this from a business sales principle, “Rules of Engagement.” If you ever intend to engage in any activity with anyone, make sure you establish rules of engagement. Protocols and procedures are rules of engagement. If they are not clear to the public and the security operatives. One party is most likely doing to disrespect the other rooted in issues like different cultural backgrounds, level of education, personality traits and mood of the day. Establish clear SOPs for security Operatives.
Power of Branding. In the words of my former Boss Danze Edwin. “NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF BRANDING” What I picked from his statement was, no matter how simple formal, complex a message may be, Branding goes a long way informing people about protocols. even a simple “Please slow down, to follow security protocol to ensure your safety, sets the tone for anyone to cool down and give security operatives a chance to carry on their SOPs with ease. Only a few cases will be stubborn.
